I am a realist painter, however all painting is abstraction. As an artist I paint what I see. A teacher I had once told me ,  " Don't worry about your style, style is like hand- writing, it will come naturally ". To imitate another's style will at best only lead you to be a good copyist. The only thing worth copying is nature and she alone will show you originality.

   As strange as it might sound, I am really not concerned with the details, just the effect. You can see someone you know from a great distance and recognize them , that is an example of how little detail is needed to capture your subject. The difficult thing is to distill your subject down to it's essentials ,it's essence.
